Shooting Gallery
The installation is part of the series "SubHuman Entertainment".
The author makes an unusual insight into the mechanisms and facilities used by the entertainment industry.
In this project the focus is fairground shooting gallery.
As usual this is a mobile trailer / caravan opens with a wall through which the shooter sees the target located on the back wall.
The installation consists of three firing positions. They focus on three TV monitors (42-inch). In front of them is mounted plexiglass protective cover. Sensors recorded hits in the center of the target and automatically activate different video files.
As a form of entertainment that brings all forms of violence, shooting is not so harmless and innocent. Entertainment, in which participants are engaged carries its own criticism and strive for rejection. The content of the videos offer different themes. They questioned the links between seemingly romantic image of the range, such as we know from the amusement park and developed by the game industry generation of "shooters", which disturb society with its shocking violence.
